I don't know about you but my head is spinning from the constant contradiction of the left. Mind you, most of the right isn't much better. The left it seems is a huge advocate of the government, until the government infringes on something they support. Let's take a look at some of the contradictions of the left.
Illegal Immigration - These days the right says "deport them" because the reality is, we cannot afford the crime or social services for these people who pay little to no taxes. The left rallies behind Obama in wanting the illegals to remain here without threat of deportation. However, when Republican presidents wanted to give amnesty, where was the left in the issue? During Bush it seemed most of America, an overwhelmingly large number was against amnesty. Would that not include the left? Republicans were OUTRAGED during both Reagan/Bush attempts at amnesty for very good reason. Amnesty simply provides a by-pass for law breakers to become legal citizens. Certainly not right. Obama has pretty much carbon copied Bush on this issue. Given the lefts absolute HATE for everything Bush did, why do they support Obama on this?
Health-care - Ah yes, the "health-care is a human right" crowd is extremely contradictory on health-care. They want the government to provide insurance and save them from the Big Bad Insurance Companies. They want the government to manipulate the health-care system so "everyone has access" (insert HUGE eyeroll). They want the government to secure tax payer funds to pay for elective procedures like abortions. Yet, at the same time, they do not want the government to have any involvement in a "woman's choice". Gee, wouldn't the government funding the abortions be involvement? Your body, your choice? So when the government is the one who pays your doctor and approves treatment, it's your choice? If you answered "yes" to that last question, save me the trouble and slap yourself.
FDA/HHS/Fat Police - The left is even contradictory in the government's role in food. They insist that the big government must chase the food manufacturers and fast food giants down. They insist the only way to cure obesity for the "children" (insert cliché sob here) is to strong arm those "evil" food giants into making food safer! Take away advertising! Make them change their food! Ban this, restrict that! But let the FDA get up in arms on something being unpasteurized or "in it's natural state" and it's the left who cry government control. Or check out the USDA NOSB's stance on aquaponics. The left is upset that the NOSB doesn't qualify foods not grown in soil but use no pesticides, chemicals, etc as organic. How dare the USDA NOSB declare that?!?!?!?
Cap and Trade - The hypocracy is too much in this case. Even though a Toyota Prius is actually worse for the environment than a Hummer, you see no shortage of the Prius in California. All the while, the Californians shun the rest of America for driving a Ford Explorer (yes because you can haul so much in a Prius). Even with just this one example, you'd think Cap and Trade or ANYTHING similar would have been shot down, but it hasn't been. Even more contradictory is the left's acceptance of India and China's ever growing emissions issues. I guess it's okay to "destroy the planet" if your country is still growing? Then I guess it can be assumed the left doesn't want America to grow?
Foreign policy - The left wants to do nothing about everything all the while insisting they are solving the issues. They praise talking it out as if it's an idea coined by the left. While I understand it's such a difficult concept to comprehend for the left, I will say it again. NO ONE will go to war if they can just talk it out. It's a career killer for any politician who endorses it, it puts the nation at risk, and it damages the economy (which is something the politicians are all personally invested in).
I could go on. But I have other things to do.
Mind the CoH.
